ISPreview has today been informed that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Edinburgh-based UK alternative network operator GoFibre, Neil Conaghan, who has led the business since November 2022, recently resigned from the business and a hunt for his successor has now begun.

Regular readers of the site will know that GoFibre has spent the past few years building their own full fibre (FTTP) broadband network across rural parts of Northumberland (England) and the Scottish Borders area. But the company’s records were recently updated to show that their CEO of nearly four years, Neil Conaghan, ceased to be a Director earlier this month (here).

At the time of writing Neil’s LinkedIn page continues to show no change in his status, but GoFibre has today confirmed to ISPreview that Neil has resigned from the business. No reason was given for Neil’s departure, although it’s well known that altnets across the market are currently facing significant economic pressures from issues such as rising build costs, high interest rates and competition.
