Hampshire-based alternative network toob, which has deployed their own full fibre gigabit broadband network in the South of England and also harnesses CityFibre’s network in other UK areas, has today praised their staff for taking part in last night’s episode of the BBC’s DIY SOS TV show. The provider donated their full-fibre to a family in need and assisted in a renovation.
Toob’s staff joined forces with the DIY SOS team to help transform a family home in Bitterne, Southampton. As part of the project, toob donated its 900Mbps broadband service and provided volunteers to support the life-changing project, which saw Ahmed and Rifat Ali’s family home renovated with future-proof accessibility.
The project came at a particularly important time for the family. Before the DIY SOS transformation began, Ahmed and Rifat, who are both profoundly deaf, had been left in a difficult position following work carried out by a rogue builder, leaving their 3-bed home unfinished and the family facing significant uncertainty about what would happen next as they had spent their life savings on the renovation.
