The AllPoints Fibre Network (APFN), which is a Fern Trading backed wholesale platform that aggregates connectivity from several different UK networks including their own, has this morning announced that they’re opening up access to their own Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband infrastructure (formerly Jurassic Fibre, Giganet and Swish Fibre) to their partner ISPs.
Regular readers will recall that alternative networks Jurassic Fibre, Giganet and Swish Fibre were consolidated into a single full fibre network a few years ago, but then stopped accepting new customers until only a few short months ago. But initially this activity was limited to APFN’s own retail brand ISP Brillband (here), which was last month sold to Olilo (here).
The good news today is that APFN, after investing hundreds of millions to build the infrastructure, has finally opened its own full fibre network, which is available across parts of Buckinghamshire, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Surrey, Sussex and Wiltshire in England, to wholesale partners through its Aquila platform. Retail ISP partners Olilo and Onestream, which took on APFN’s old retail customers, are naturally the first to benefit.
