Rural broadband ISP Quickline, which is building a new full fibre (FTTP) and fixed wireless (FWA) network across parts of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire in England, has announced that they’ve partnered with careers platform Springpod to create 250 micro-internship opportunities for young people and jobseekers across South and West Yorkshire.

The 4-week long micro-internships, designed for students from Year 9 to Year 13, give participants the chance to tackle real challenges set by employers, from exploring how AI could solve social and environmental problems to developing ideas for lower-carbon communities. The initiative forms part of Quickline’s social value commitments under their Project Gigabit broadband roll-out contracts with the Government.

The partnership will also give 30 schools and colleges in South Yorkshire access to Springpod’s Ignite programme, helping students explore different careers, develop digital skills and prepare for the world of work.
